US Features
What it does — The US version of Housr is tailored to the American student housing market, where large property operators manage apartment complexes near universities. The experience focuses on property discovery, rideshare, and community features suited to US campus life.
Who uses it — Students and Property Operators in the US
How it works
The US platform includes everything in the shared feature set (property search, viewings, events, perks, roommate matching) plus the following US-specific capabilities:
Property Operators
In the US, properties are managed by property operators rather than individual letting agents. These operators typically manage larger apartment complexes and student housing communities near universities. They list properties through Housr and respond to student enquiries.
Entrata Integration
Housr connects with Entrata, a major US property management platform, to automatically import property listings. This keeps availability, pricing, and property details up to date without operators needing to manually update Housr.
Rideshare
While rideshare is available in both markets, it has a stronger focus in the US. Students can organise shared trips between cities — useful for travelling between university and home, or between campuses.
US Moderation
The US platform uses its own moderation system, reflecting different content and community standards for the American market.
University Partnerships
Housr partners with US universities differently to the UK, with relationships tailored to how American institutions work with off-campus housing providers.
Authentication
US users have specific sign-in options suited to the market, which may differ from the UK app.
