What it does — Housr sends push notifications to keep students informed about activity across the platform. From viewing confirmations to event reminders, notifications ensure students never miss something important.

How it works

What You Get Notified About

  • Viewings — Confirmation when a viewing is booked, reminders before your viewing, and updates if anything changes
  • Messages — New messages from agents, roommate matches, or rideshare connections
  • Events — Reminders before events you have signed up for, and alerts about new events in your city
  • Perks — New perks and limited-time offers from brand partners
  • Bills — Payment reminders, meter reading prompts, and billing updates (UK only)
  • Roomie — New match suggestions and responses to your roommate requests
  • Rideshare — Booking requests, confirmations, and messages from drivers or passengers
  • General — Platform updates, new features, and important announcements

Managing Notifications

  1. Go to your Profile settings in the app
  2. Open notification preferences
  3. Toggle individual notification types on or off based on what you want to receive
  4. Push notifications require granting permission when you first install the app — you can change this in your phone’s settings at any time

Where it lives — Mobile App

Push notifications are a mobile app feature. The website does not send push notifications.

Regional availability — UK and US

Notification types are the same across both markets, except for bills-related notifications which are UK only.
