Roommate Matching

What it does — The “Roomie” feature helps students find compatible people to live with. Students fill in their preferences and lifestyle habits, and Housr suggests potential roommates based on compatibility. Think of it as a matching service for housemates.

Who uses it — Students

How it works

Setting Up Your Profile

  1. Open the Roomie section in the app
  2. Fill in your profile with details about yourself — your university, course, year of study, and a bit about your personality
  3. Answer questions about your living preferences — sleep schedule, cleanliness, noise tolerance, socialising habits, and more
  4. Add photos and a short bio so potential roommates can get to know you

Finding Matches

  1. Housr uses your preferences to suggest compatible roommates
  2. Browse through your suggested matches
  3. See each person’s profile, preferences, and compatibility score
  4. If someone looks like a good fit, send them a request

Connecting

  1. When you send a request, the other person is notified
  2. If they accept, you can start chatting within the app
  3. Get to know each other and decide if you want to find a house together
  4. Once you have found your housemates, search for properties together using the group features
