Explore Configuration

What it does — Admins control what students see when they open a city’s explore screen in the app. This includes configuring widgets, featured content, search areas, and city-specific information to create a curated experience for each location.

How it works

  1. Navigate to the Explore Configuration section in the Portal
  2. Select a city to configure
  3. Key configuration options include:
    • Widgets — Choose and arrange the content blocks that appear on the explore screen (e.g. featured properties, upcoming events, popular areas, perks)
    • Featured content — Highlight specific properties, events, or promotions at the top of the explore screen
    • Search areas — Define the neighbourhoods, zones, or areas students can browse within a city
    • City-specific content — Add local information, university guides, or seasonal messaging relevant to students in that city
  4. Preview how the explore screen will look to students
  5. Publish the configuration — changes go live in the app for students browsing that city
